Clyde Park Brazils & Hawthorne Park Youth Soccer Team faced off at Toyota Park Soccer Stadium in Bridgeview IL. on Sunday at the Annual Cinco de Mayo President's (Larry"s ) Cup Soccer Championship Game. The Cicero Mexican Cultural would like to thank President Larry Dominick and Senator Steve Landek for making if possible for our youth to paly at Toyota Park. "Getting our kids a chance to play in a professional soccer field is very inspiring for our youth. It lifts their confidence. All of our kids are winners when they get involved in sports." Said Gerardo Soliz, Clyde Park Soccer Coordinator and member of the Cicero Mexican Cultural Committee Board.
Clyde Park Brazils won the 2015 Championship against Hawthorne Park Youth with the score was 5 to 0.
The soccer tournament was sponsored by Morton College, Tutoria Latina, and Los Comales. Dr. Dana Grove President of Morton College, Senorita Cicero 2014 Dafne Villasenor, her Princesses Natalia Valdes & Kelin Herrera awarded the new Cinco de Mayo 2015 Soccer Champions.
Food, games, music, carnival rides and just a lot of family fun during the annual Cinco de Mayo en Cicero Fest by the Town of Cicero & the Cicero Mexican Cultural Committee. The festival was sponsored by Telemundo, Infinity, the McDonald's Restaurant Hispanic Owner Operators Association, and Sinfonia Resturant. Over 30,000 attended this Cinco de Mayo Fiesta this weekend in Cicero.
Consul General of Mexico the Honorable Carlos Jimenez Macias joined President Larry Dominick, Gerardo Soliz, & Senorita Cicero Dafne Villasenor award the official President's Cup to the Clyde Park Soccer 2015 Cinco de Mayo Champions in front of thousands of spectators on Sunday. "It is always great coming to the Town of Cicero and join in the festivities. President Larry Dominick, The Town of Cicero and the Cicero Mexican Cultural Committee always organizes a spectacular and an outstanding event." Said Consul General Macias.
Rain, and winds couldn't keep the crowd from enjoying the main headliner event performance by the "Horocopos de Durango". Over 12,000 fans danced, and cheered while these two Mexican beautiful superstars Vicky and Marisol played their greatest.
Cicero Mexican Cultural Committee Chairman Frank J. Aguilar and Senorita Cicero Dafne Villasenor presented these popular duets Appreciation Award for their contributions in the Latin American music industry and their support for the Mexican community.
Other popular bands included: Los Cadetes, Luz Roja de San Marcos, Sierra Azul, Velos, and Afirmativo H, jazzed up the crowd Mexican Style!
